Hearing From God

As we draw close to the end of the year, we’ll begin to reflect back on the past months, so the new year will be full of thanksgiving. Looking back, you’ll realise even in hard times, God has been faithful.

Year 2022 in few days.

Hearing from God is something that every christian should experience regularly. God constantly speaks to us to give us directions. We can’t miss out on guidance routes with God’s directions.

When we hear from God, we understand the processes of life stages better, because God sees the beginning and the end, so he shows life’s stages to us, and gives us a manual to overcome all obstacles.

Hearing from God to guide us through helps makes our lives better, hence we need to constantly hear from him to guide us in the new year.

In the bible, people who heard from God, were overcomers.
Samuel, Abraham, Moses. The story of Samuel is found in 1 Samuel 3:1-10.

Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Exodus 19:9
The Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever.” Then Moses told the words of the people to the Lord.

How to hear from God:

– Be close to God. Set your mind on Jesus. You can’t be thinking of doing something outside the word of God and still remain focus. 100% concentration is needed.

-Observe your quiet time, set aside a time for God, a time for prayers.

– Listen carefully to hear God’s voice.

– Wait in silence for God to speak after prayers.

– When God calls, respond, and obey him.

-Read the Bible, pray everyday if you want to grow in the Lord.

Acts 17:27

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.

Divine direction: Seeking God’s guidance in your decisions

For God’s plans towards us are great. It might take a while to realise the path God has destined for you. But once you realise his plans over your life, and you begin to work in the that direction, things will begin to make sense.

Seeking direction from God, helps prevent us from making mistakes. Asking God to lead our path makes things easier. Like they say, success doesn’t come easy but going in God’s direction and plan for your life helps connect you to the helpers he has destined for you. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6.

Direction from God is key. Location is also important. Does he want you there? Will it work out for you in that city? What is God saying concerning you? How does he want you to go about things? Ask and seek him first, don’t just do things because it’s working out for everyone. The ways of God are different from the ways of man. Only God sees the future and he only knows what’s best for you.

Sometimes we get confused about how to go about life. I want you to take a deep breath and remember that God listens.

7 Months Off Instagram: Here’s what I’ve learned

Instagram is a space I use to document my personal brand: My blog posts, pictures, write-ups, travel stories, faith journey and of course some of my winter-inspired fashion pictures. Admittedly, I post three to four times a week, but I have never felt addicted. There was this positive flow I felt on Instagram and I like it.

I found social media to be a positive place to find my online community. On Instagram I post what I like and I guess most of my followers like what I post too. It gets really interactive when I post pictures so I guess they love it.

I post mostly about the environment, pictures of myself and beautiful UK structures which I have falling in love with.

Well, after a while, I got busy with work and I realised I wasn’t going on Instagram like I used to do in the past few weeks. I then decided to give myself a total break from Instagram.
I stopped posting pictures and also stopped engagements on Instagram since February this year until September!

Now this is what I Learned from my Instagram break.

1) Instagram makes you lazy:

After going off Instagram, I realised I accomplished more. Daily work was done quickly. I had time to do so much. Wasn’t online as I used to so I had the time to finish up things around the house and look after myself more.

2) I became more productive:

Bored? Tired? Procrastinating a task I didn’t want to do? Lonely and craving connection?
There’s more to do in life than just sitting and going through other people’s Instagram profile and you’d figure out that you’ve got so much in you, you’ve got to offer offline.

3) I realised my post were quite relevant but I could do more:

Going off Instagram, I learned more on how to be more engaging with my followers and how I could add more content to my profile because offline I had more time to be creative and I learned more from the outside environment.

4) You’ve got a life outside Instagram:

I also found out that my life experience was much more valuable and nourishing than the interruption that comes from pausing to style, frame and take a picture.

5: You can achieve anything:

I did it! I was off Instagram for a while and I’m alive! This proves to me that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. It’s easy…..Go for it and you’d achieve it.
